GENERAL

INFO.

The CM/ECF “Calendar Events” report option offers more extensive parameters than the “Daily Calendar” report.

This report can be run for a particular case or for all cases within a particular date range.  It can be run for one division or multiple divisions using the “Ctrl” and click method.

The data that is gathered includes a hyperlink to run a docket report for any of the cases collected.  It also includes a silver bullet for each document that is a hyperlink to “Related Proceedings” information.

This report includes all hearing and meeting information, but does NOT include deadlines.

HELP SCREENS

Help is available for most screens by clicking on the  button.  The help box will display describing the fields and what entry is required for the window you are currently viewing.

Click on the  button at the upper right hand corner of the screen or the  button to close the help screen.

STEP 1

Log in to the CM/ECF System using your ECF Login and Password if you aren’t already logged in.

NOTE:  After logging in, if you click on Netscape Navigator’s  (resize) button accidentally instead of clicking the minimize  button, or if you drag the sides to resize the Netscape window, there is a Netscape Navigator bug which will throw you out of your CM/ECF session and you will lose all the information that you have entered up to that point.  So, resize the window before you login!

STEP 2

Click on “Reports” in the blue menu bar at the top of the screen.

STEP 3

Click on the  hyperlink.

NO PACER

The “PACER Login” screen will not display because access to this information is available to any certified user for free.

SEARCH PARA- METERS

The following parameters are available to produce the “Calendar Events” report.

NOTE:  The reason there is more than one “341 Meeting” entry is because CM/ECF classifies differently for different chapters and makes distinctions between asset and no asset, so it takes two “341 Meeting” codes to gather accurate 341 meeting information.

Make your choices following the guidelines set out below.

LIMITING THE REPORT

Using the following boxes, you can limit the cases to a particular case number, a particular division(s), and/or a particular hearing type(s).

If you leave the “Case number” field blank, it will gather hearing/meeting information for any cases that match the other criteria.

It can also be run for multiple divisions or multiple types of hearings/meetings by using the “Ctrl” and click method.

NOTE:  The report defaults to “Ashland” division and to today’s date and to “All Hearings”.  So, unless you happen to want a report limited to today’s Ashland hearings, meetings, etc., you will need to make different selections.

LIMITING BY DATE TYPE AND RANGE

This report will gather cases that were filed with today’s date by default.  You can change the default of today’s date to any other range of dates.

NOTE:  Enter dates as mm/dd/yy or mm/dd/yyyy.

NOTE:  You can enter a beginning date with no end date.  This will include all entries from the start date to the present date.  You can also enter an ending date in the field after the “to” with no beginning date.  This will include all entries in the case up to the ending date.

You can also use the above fields to limit the information gathered to just those hearings/meetings scheduled in the morning (AM) on a particular day(s), or just those hearings/meetings scheduled in the afternoon (PM) on a particular day(s), or you can click in the circle next to “Both” and get the hearing/meeting information for the entire day(s).

Finally, you can limit the information retrieved to just those hearings/meetings being held at a particular time on a particular day(s) using the fields shown below.

SORTING

After you have made your choices as to what data the report will gather, you can then have that data sorted by time, or by office/division and then time using the choices shown below.

CLEAR OPTION

You can click the  button to return the screen to the normal defaults if you change your mind about any of the choices you have made.

STEP 4

After making your choices, click the  button.

SAMPLE CALENDAR EVENTS REPORT

A standard calendar similar to the calendar shown below will display.

NOTE:  Clicking on the blue-underlined text will allow you to print a docket report for the case (after entering your PACER login and password).

Clicking on the silver bullet (like the one shown below next to a “Motion to Dismiss Case”) will produce a “Related Proceedings” report about the pleading being heard.

SAMPLE

RELATED PRO- CEEDINGS REPORT

The “Related Proceedings” Report shows anything linked to the pleading being heard.  This may be helpful if you are looking for objections, amended documents, or supporting documents.  In the case of 341 meetings, continuances and motions related to that issue would appear.

NOTE:  Clicking on the underlined Case Number and Case Name will generate a list of docket entries in the case, but just the docket entries, not a full blown docket report which includes party information.

NOTE:  All current case flags are also displayed on this report right below the case number and title.  In the example above, there are still fees due in this installment case.

Click on your browser’s  button to return to the calendar events report.

NOTE:  Clicking on the blue-underlined document number(s) will display the .pdf image of the pleading and supporting documentation (up to 50 pages), but will launch Adobe Acrobat Reader within the CM/ECF screen.  See warning message below.

IMPORTANT

WARNING RE VIEWING .PDF DOCU- MENTS

When you click on a document or claim number while in CM/ECF, you will be able to view the document or claim, but the Adobe Acrobat Reader software will not be separately launched in the process.  Your screen will look similar to the screen below.

Note that the title bar at the top is still showing the “Kentucky Eastern Train Database – Netscape” program.

In addition, note that the main CM/ECF blue menu bar still shows.

You will need to use your browser’s  button to go back to the screen you were previously viewing.

If you try to close the .pdf document by clicking on the  button, you will actually throw yourself out of the CM/ECF system.

PRINTING OR SAVING THE REPORT

Click on your browser’s printer icon  to print the “Calendar Events” report or the “Related Proceedings” report.

To save a copy of the “Calendar Events” report or the “Related Proceedings” report, click “File” in your browser’s menu bar.

Then select “Save As”,  “Save Frame As”, or “Save Target As” and save to the drive you wish to on your computer.

bugs you should be aware of:

MR #577

When choosing “All Hearings” in the Calendar Events Report, the 341 meeting dates appear on the judge’s calendar even though they are meetings, not hearings and they are not presided over by the judge.

MR #38

Calendar Events Report doesn’t sort 12:00 times correctly.  12:00 is listed after the 1:00 p.m. time frame.
