GENERAL

INFO.

The “Claims Register” reflects the current situation/status of each claim.  It will reflect any updates that are made to a claim’s situation/status immediately prior to the report’s generation.

When you are filing a “Proof of Claim”, if you have ever wondered why you have to enter some of the same information contained in the .pdf “Proof of Claim” form, this report is why.  The information you enter enables the computer to produce a “Claims Register” for a case.

HELP SCREENS

Help is available for most screens by clicking on the  button.  The help box will display describing the fields and what entry is required for the window you are currently viewing.

Click on the  button at the upper right hand corner of the screen or the  button to close the help screen.

STEP 1

Log in to the CM/ECF System using your ECF Login and Password if you aren’t already logged in.

NOTE:  If you aren’t going to be filing any pleadings, but will simply be running a report, you can log in using your PACER Login and Password instead.

NOTE:  After logging in, if you click on Netscape Navigator’s  (resize) button accidentally instead of clicking the minimize  button, or if you drag the sides to resize the Netscape window, there is a Netscape Navigator bug which will throw you out of your CM/ECF session and you will lose all the information that you have entered up to that point.  So, resize the window before you login!

STEP 2

Click on “Reports” in the blue menu bar at the top of the screen.

STEP 3

Click on the  hyperlink in the list of reports.

STEPS

4 - 5

The “PACER Login” screen will now display unless you previously logged in using your PACER login and password or unless you are an attorney who does not use the “Client code:” field and you have defaulted your PACER login to be linked to your CM/ECF login.  The client code field is mainly for creditor attorney’s use to facilitate billing the client for expenses.

Enter your PACER login and password and a client code, if desired.

Then, click the  button.

SEARCH PARA-METERS

The “Claims Register” fields now display.

This is a set of fields where you can enter information and make choices.  These fields are parameters.  These parameters can be used to narrow down the amount of information that is on the claims register for a case, or, they can be used to produce the entire claims register for a case.

Since you are paying 7 cents per screen viewed or page printed for most reports, it is recommended that you use any available fields to narrow down your report size.

EXPLANA-TION OF CLAIMS REGISTER FIELDS

Claims Register information can be requested by and/or limited by:

·        Case number (this is a required entry)

·        Creditor type

·        Creditor number

·        Creditor name

·        Claim number or a range of claim numbers

·        Date filed or entered or a range of dates filed or entered

NOTE:  You can enter a beginning date with no end date.  This will include all entries from the start date to the present date.  You can also enter an ending date in the field after the “to” with no beginning date.  This will include all entries in the case up to the ending date.

Claims Registers can be sorted by:

·        Claim number

·        Creditor name

·        Filed date

NOTE:  You can specify both a primary and a secondary sort.  If the claims have the same value for the primary sort, then they will be sorted by the secondary sort criteria.

NOTE:  A creditor number is assigned by the system when the record is added to the database.  It is used internally by the court and also identifies creditors on the BNC Certificates of Mailing.

To view all claims activities for the case enter only the case number.

CLEAR OPTION

You can click the  button to return the screen to the normal defaults if you change your mind about any of the choices you have made.

IMPORTANT

WARNING RE VIEWING .PDF DOCU- MENTS

When you click on a document or claim number while in CM/ECF, you will be able to view the document or claim, but the Adobe Acrobat Reader software will not be separately launched in the process.  Your screen will look similar to the screen below.

Note that the title bar at the top is still showing the “Kentucky Eastern Train Database – Netscape” program.

In addition, note that the main CM/ECF blue menu bar still shows.

You will need to use your browser’s  button to go back to the screen you were previously viewing.

If you try to close the .pdf document by clicking on the  button, you will actually throw yourself out of the CM/ECF system.

UPPER

RIGHT HAND

CORNER

INFO.

Additional information about each claim is displayed in the upper right hand corner of that claim’s section of the report.

  • Last Date to File Claims:  shows the claims bar date as set out in the 341 meeting notice or as set out in the trustee’s Notice of Sufficient Assets

  • Last Date to File (Govt):  will not have a date in the EDKY since a generically described time period is set out in the 341 meeting notice, instead of a specific date.

  • Filing Status:  shows the status of the claim (disallowed, withdrawn, etc.) as entered at the time of filing or as updated by court staff through the edit claims utility.

  • Docket Status:  shows the status of the claim when it is updated by docketing events such as a withdrawal of claim or an order disallowing a claim, etc. and gives a document number hyperlink to the pleading

  • Late:  will always contain an “N” (no) flag regardless of when the claim was filed (even if it was after the “Claims Bar Date”) unless the filer marked it as “Late” or court staff has edited the claim information.

CLAIMS SUMMARY

At the end of the “Claims Register” report is a “Claims Register Summary” that shows the total amounts of all claims.
