A note about multiple e-mail addresses in CM/ECF

We were just advised that only the primary e-mail address for a CM/ECF user gets the "free peek" at pleadings in electronic cases. A user who has additional e-mail addresses set up does not get the free peek from e-mail sent to those additional addresses. Please be sure to set the e-mail address at which you want to get the free first look at pleadings as your primary address.

One other note: Some pleadings will not have a "clickable" link in an e-mail, even though a document number may appear there.  This is because some entries are "virtual" (text-only) and do not have a PDF document associated with them. Some examples of virtual docket entries are the Notice of Appointment of Interim Trustee as well as the Trustee's Report of No Distribution. The complete text from the conventional paper document is now contained in the text of the docket entry, thus there is no need to attach a PDF document to these virtual entries.

In addition, other docket events are used to generate a notice through the Bankruptcy Noticing Center (BNC). These events, such as the Meeting of Creditors and Order of Discharge, will also not have a hyperlink to a document. The BNC will mail out paper notices two days after these entries have been docketed. At that time, a BNC Certificate of Mailing event will be docketed and linked to the originating event. The BNC Certificate of Mailing document number will have a hyperlink that can be clicked to view a PDF image of the notice. For example, if you would like to view the 341 notice in a case, you will not be able to do so by clicking on the document number in the e-mail notifying you that the Meeting of Creditors event has been docketed. You will need to wait until you receive e-mail of the BNC Certificate of Mailing of the Meeting of Creditors.
