Debtors can now request receipt of court notices and orders by email rather than by U.S. mail. This new free program is called Debtor Electronic Bankruptcy Noticing (DeBN). Service requirements for other parties in a bankruptcy case do not change with DeBN.
DeBN offers debtors a number of advantages

• Debtors receive court notices and orders (e.g., deficiency notices, order of discharge, etc.) by email the same day the court generates them, and the same day as the debtor’s attorney.
• Debtors can access court notices and orders delivered through DeBN from a computer or mobile device that has an Internet connection and a free Adobe Acrobat Reader.
• There is no charge to view or save court notices and orders emailed through DeBN.
• There  is  no  limit  to  the  number  of  times  that court notices and orders emailed through DeBN can be viewed or saved.

 
To activate a DeBN account, a debtor must file a Debtor’s Electronic Noticing Request  (DeBN) form.  If both debtors in a joint case wish to receive court notices and orders by email, each debtor must file a separate form.  Debtors can file a DeBN request form through their attorney electronically.  If not represented by an attorney, debtors can mail the form to the Clerk’s Office or send it by email to debn_registration@kyeb.uscourts.gov.
