Motions for Pikeville chapter 7, 11, 12 and 13 cases:  Third Tuesday of each month (subject to change).

All matters begin at 10:00 a.m. (unless otherwise scheduled) at the U.S. Bankruptcy Court, U.S. Post Office and Courthouse, U.S. District Courtroom, 110 Main Street, Suite 201, Pikeville, KY.

All evidentiary/valuation hearings will be scheduled at 10:30 a.m.

EVIDENTIARY HEARINGS:

Parties involved in evidentiary hearings (e.g. attorneys and witnesses) must appear in Pikeville.  Evidentiary hearings may be held in Lexington on request of all parties and approval of the Court.

ALL OTHER MATTERS:

Pikeville hearings are usually held by videoconference.  For such hearings, the Judge will remain in Lexington but appear in the divisional courtroom by remote audio and video.  Except for evidentiary hearings, counsel may appear in Lexington for the call of any Pikeville Docket, whether the Judge is in Pikeville or handling the docket remotely.

2026 Pikeville Hearing Dates:

On October 31, 2025, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Kentucky issued General Order 25-15, “In the Matter of Pretermission of Pikeville as a Place of Holding Court in the Eastern District of Kentucky,” (KYED General Order 25-15). The United States Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Kentucky has issued General Order 25-1, which adopts in full the provisions of KYED General Order 25-15. Both General Orders may be viewed under News & Announcements. Additional guidance to attorneys and parties in affected cases will be provided as it becomes available.
